Trends in autologous, prosthetic, and hybrid breast surgery
From May 23rd to May 24th, 2024, the “Current Trends in Autologous, Prosthetic, and Hybrid Breast Reconstruction” congress, supported by SICPRE, will take place in Fossano (CN) at the Principi d’Acaja Castle. The event is organised by Alberto Rivarossa, director of the complex Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery structure at the Saint Croce e Carle Hospital in Cuneo. Rivarossa will also serve as the scientific director of the congress.
This congress is held biennially and has been accredited with 16 training credits. The program will cover all aspects of reconstructive breast surgery. It will examine various techniques: from “one stage” to a partial return to two stages, with an expansion of indications for “Muscle Sparing” prepectoral reconstruction, up to autologous reconstructive breast surgery. The latter using traditional pedicled flap technique, microsurgical technique, and autologous fat grafting.
The 2024 edition will introduce a new feature. This year, the congress proceedings will commence with a session dedicated to presentations given by specialised trainees under 35 from the main Specialisation Schools. Therefore, students will come from the Universities of Rome, Bari, Udine, Padua, Genoa, and others. The author of the most captivating presentation will be recognized with a merit evaluation curated by representatives from “Capitolo PSG”, along with President of SICPRE Stefania De Fazio and President of the Scientific Committee Alberto Rivarossa.
The congress is made possible with the non-binding contribution of Revée. It also relies on the support of SICPRE, the Saint Croce e Carle Hospital in Cuneo, ASL CN1 and CN2. Moreover, the Medical Association of Cuneo and surrounding area played a pivotal role, along with the contribution of the Cuneo Hospital Foundation.
