BreasTalk 2024: advancing research in the fight against breast cancer
The second edition of BreasTalk will take place on November 21-22, 2024, at the Quark Hotel in Milan. The event is dedicated to research and innovation in the fight against breast cancer. Organised under the scientific direction of Professo Corrado Tinterri and the presidency of Professor Paolo Veronesi, the congress will bring together experts from leading Italian research and treatment centres to discuss the most current topics in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
The BreasTalk 2024 program
The program will span two days filled with education sessions, debates, and roundtables. Thursday’s session will begin with an overviews of controversies and developments in managing early-stage disease. Topics will include molecular pathology, genomic tests, and new therapeutic approaches.
Special attention will be given to breast surgery. Sessions will cover surgical de-escalation and strategies for high-risk patients.
In the afternoon, participants, will explore advances in personalised medicine and the implications of advanced molecular diagnostic tests, such as Next Generation Sequencing. The day will conclude with the first BreasTalk Consesus, which will propose innovative guidelines for managing patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy.
Friday’s session will focus on topics such as oncoplasty, reconstructive treatments, and few frontiers in translational research. Progress in the use of liquid biopsies and real.world data will also be discussed. In the afternoon, the use of artificial intelligence in prevetion and the mind-body connection in breast cancer risk will be explored.
Certified ECM training event
BreasTalk 2024 is open to doctors, nurses, and radiology technicians, with the assignment of 4.2 ECM credits.
